NextMove · company record watchlist · alpha
Know what moves.
Stay ready.
NextMove is a company watchlist built on the public record. Track the organizations that matter to you and read documented layoff notices and restructuring disclosures with their source, their timing, and the limits of the check left intact.
searching the retrieved notices needs no account
Connected sources
| Record set | Publisher | Reach |
|---|---|---|
| State WARN notices | Each state's labor agency | 21 states of 50. |
| SEC 8-K Item 2.05 | U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (EDGAR) | Nationwide, but SEC-reporting companies only. |
WARN coverage reaches 21 of the 50 states. It is not nationwide, and the states that are not connected file notices NextMove never reads. Connections names every source and every gap.
Everything retrieved from these sources is searchable by employer name without an account. The notices are public records; a watchlist only changes who does the checking.
A narrow signal system
Less noise. More documented context.
NextMove is not a job board, an application tracker, or an interview tool. It reports what public sources have published about workforce reductions, and it is explicit about what it did not check.
Keep companies you care about in view
Build a private watchlist by hand and re-check it against available public evidence. Each entry shows whether coverage was confirmed, incomplete, or not yet checked.
Layoff Watch, from the public record
State WARN notices with official source links, affected-worker counts when the source provides them, and recorded retrieval times.
Source attribution stays attached
Every record carries a publisher, a link when the source publishes one, and a timestamp. Nothing is summarized away from its origin.
Limits stay visible, not buried
When retrieval fails partway through, the interface says so. A missing match from incomplete coverage is reported as inconclusive, not as good news.
How the alpha works
A signal path you can inspect.
- 01
Add a company
Start with the organizations that affect your current role, your network, or your contingency planning. Exact legal names match best.
- 02
Review the check that actually ran
NextMove compares your tracked companies against the public records it has retrieved — and tells you when that retrieval was incomplete.
- 03
Read the evidence in context
Publisher, retrieval time, and a link to the official record stay attached to every entry, so you can assess it yourself rather than take our word for it.
Stated plainly
What NextMove does not do
- —It does not tell you what an employer is going to do. It reports what a public source has already published.
- —It does not rate or rank companies. There is no number attached to a company here, because no honest one exists from this data.
- —It does not cover the country. WARN notices are connected for 21 states, not fifty, and SEC filings reach only public companies. A company absent from both may still be reducing headcount. Connections lists every source and its gaps.
- —It does not surface hidden job openings, match you to roles, or run any part of a job search.
